About the First Lady

Jean Callahan often represents Pacific publicly on behalf of the president, speaking regularly and working with students, parents, prospective students, faculty and staff, community leaders, alumni and university supporters. Mrs. Callahan had a long career as a human resources executive for national consulting companies, health care firms and recruiting agencies in Washington, D.C., Phoenix and San Francisco. She grew up in Bucks County, Penn., and holds a B.A. in psychology from Fairfield University.

In action

Jean Callahan serves as an ambassador for Pacific on our campuses and in our communities. She has been co-chair of a community task force charged with designing the $20 million plan to renovate the Miracle Mile business district. She also plays key roles in campus life, attending games and concerts and hosting dinner parties for students at the President’s Residence. She launched the #WomenSupportingWomen group of local leaders to attend Pacific Women’s Basketball games. She is leading the efforts to create a boutique lodge—the Pacific Inn—on campus for parents, prospective students and other visitors. She also plays a leadership role in student recruitment and alumni events regionally and across the country.
